The annual Kid's fishing derby is held the 1st Saturday of June at the Malone Village Pond on College Ave.  This is a free event for children with refreshments and prizes provided. 

Registration begins at 9 and ends at 11.  Fishing times run from 10 to noon, no fishing before or after the allotted times, long blast on car horn will signal start, 2 short blasts 10 minutes prior to finish, long blast for finish.  Children and parents must be at registration area no later than 10 minutes after finish to qualify for prizes.  Only registered entrants are allowed to fish during the derby.

Hot dogs will be served at noon, and prizes will be awarded after lunch.  All fish must be weighed and measured to be entered for prizes. Fishing rods will be awarded for biggest trout, biggest non trout and smallest fish.  A boys and a girls bicycle will be awarded by random draw from all registrants, other door prizes will also be awarded by random draw.  CHILD MUST BE PRESENT AT DRAWING TO WIN ANY PRIZE.

This is a great opportunity to get the kids out and do a little fishing, it is intended to be a fun event for all. Please help us keep it that way by following the rules.                      

The Fish and Game Club thanks all local merchants that help us put on this event through donations of products, and the Village of Malone for allowing us to use the pond,  without them we would not be able to able to do it. Please help us keep the area clean by picking up your trash and putting it in the barrels by the registration tent.

One last note, the property on the right as you drive in to the pond area is privately owned," no parking" signs will be posted along this area, please do not park there.

Rules:

 Children ages 5 to 14

Worms only, (not provided), no lures or treble hooks. Bobbers are OK.

 

Adult may cast line, but child must hook and reel in fish.

1 pole per child

Hot dogs and other refreshments provided for all.

Absolutely no alcoholic beverages
